8/20/09 ANNOUNCEMENT:  Three-Year Local Plan Revised & Extended

The DCWIB announces the availability of the modified WIA Title IB and Wagner-Peyser Comprehensive Three-Year Local Plan. The update extends our local plan from July 1, 2009 – June 30, 2010.

On February 17, 2009, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was signed into law. This significant legislation provided new strategic emphases and allows all workforce investment areas to realign and reprioritize local policies and procedures.

Dutchess County’s plan will be submitted to the New York State Department of Labor September 18, 2009, following this statutorily mandated 30 day local public review and comment period.

The New York State Department of Labor, Workforce Development and Training Division has released ADVANCE-NY ( ongoing RFA #25-M).  The purpose is to support employer strategies and local efforts for lifelong learning for the development of the incumbent worker by providing funds for upgrading their occupational skills.
